Itinerary
Your journey begins the moment you land at Cairo International Airport. An ENA representative greets you with warmth and ease into your private transfer. The city’s skyline flickers past as you drive to your hotel, where you’ll settle in for your first night in Cairo — a city where ancient wonders and modern life intertwine at every turn.
The morning sun gilds the Giza Plateau, where the Great Pyramid of Khufu has stood for more than 4,500 years. Rising 147 meters, it is the only surviving wonder of the ancient world. Nearby, the Pyramid of Khafre and the smaller Pyramid of Menkaure complete this legendary trio. At the Valley Temple, you learn about the rituals of mummification, while the enigmatic Great Sphinx — with its lion’s body and human face — watches over the plateau as it has for millennia.
By midday, you pause for lunch at a local restaurant, enjoying a freshly prepared Egyptian meal before continuing south.
At Saqqara, the Step Pyramid of Djoser marks the earliest experiment in stone architecture, its six tiers stacked like a stairway to eternity. Designed by the genius architect Imhotep in the 27th century BC, this pyramid reshaped history, transforming Egypt’s burial traditions forever. The surrounding necropolis still hides mastabas and tombs adorned with vivid carvings, whispering the daily lives of ancient Egyptians.
In Memphis, the first capital of unified Egypt, colossal statues lie waiting as if caught mid-breath. You stand before the immense figure of Ramses II, stretching more than 10 meters in length, once raised to honor one of Egypt’s greatest builders. Nearby, the Alabaster Sphinx offers a rare glimpse of craftsmanship carved from a single block of limestone, its enigmatic smile softened by centuries of history.
Finally, at Dahshur, you witness the evolution of pyramid design. The Red Pyramid glows with a rosy hue in the late sun, its smooth angles revealing the first successful attempt at a “true” pyramid. Not far away stands the Bent Pyramid, its sloping angles a reminder of the trial-and-error that shaped Egypt’s architectural genius. These monuments stand quieter than Giza, yet just as powerful. After a day tracing the dawn of Egypt’s engineering brilliance, you return to your hotel for the evening.
Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM)
Standing on the edge of the Giza Plateau, the Grand Egyptian Museum is the most ambitious museum ever built for a single civilization. Home to the complete treasures of Tutankhamun and thousands of artifacts displayed with space and light, GEM offers a modern, immersive way to experience ancient Egypt — thoughtfully curated, expansive, and unforgettable.
You climb to the Citadel of Saladin, a fortress that once guarded Cairo from invasion. Built in the 12th century, its stone walls offer sweeping views across the city. Inside, the Mosque of Muhammad Ali glitters with alabaster walls and towering domes, built in the Ottoman style to echo Istanbul’s Blue Mosque. Stepping inside, the cool light and high arches give a sense of grandeur that reflects Cairo’s role as the heart of Islamic Egypt.
The day ends at Khan El Khalili Bazaar, a labyrinth first established in 970 AD. Here, the scent of spices drifts through alleys stacked with brass lamps, hand-beaten copper, colorful textiles, and glittering jewelry. Every corner hums with life, from traditional coffeehouses to hidden workshops, and you can feel the same energy that’s animated Cairo’s markets for more than a thousand years. After time to wander, you return to your hotel.
After breakfast at your hotel, your ENA representative ensures your transfer back to Cairo International Airport. As you leave, the images of pyramids, citadels, and ancient streets remain vivid — a journey through four days that wove together Egypt’s timeless spirit.

By Petra G.(Germany)May 29, 2025 So much history in such a short timeCairo was far more fascinating than I expected. Our ENA guide, Rania, shared stories that turned ruins into living history. We climbed inside a pyramid, visited the Citadel and learned how old Coptic churches link to early Christianity. On our final evening we had dinner overlooking the Nile—just magical. I can’t recommend this tour enough if you have limited days.Date of Experience: May 21, 2025
