Itinerary
Your ENA representative greets you at Cairo Airport and escorts you to your hotel. The rest of the evening is yours to rest or wander Cairo’s lively streets, where the sounds of car horns mingle with the call to prayer and the aroma of fresh bread drifts from corner bakeries.
The day begins at the Giza Plateau, where the Great Pyramid of Khufu towers 147 meters above the desert. Beside it stand the pyramids of Chephren and Mykerinos, each part of this ancient royal necropolis. The Valley Temple, used for purification rituals, still holds the weight of its sacred purpose. Standing nearby is the Sphinx — 73 meters long, 20 meters high — a colossal guardian carved with the body of a lion and the face of a king.
After a morning among the pyramids, you pause for lunch at a local restaurant before continuing to the Grand Egyptian Museum. Inside, more than 250,000 artifacts reveal 5,000 years of history. The Narmer Palette depicts Egypt’s first unification, while colossal statues of Khafre and Menkaure echo the power of pyramid builders. Most dazzling of all is the collection of Tutankhamun: golden jewelry, chariots, and the boy king’s iconic funerary mask.
The afternoon closes in Khan El Khalili Bazaar, a maze of narrow alleys that has thrived since the 14th century. Shops spill over with brass lamps, handwoven carpets, silver jewelry, and the scent of spices and coffee. Here you feel Cairo’s pulse, alive with centuries of trade and storytelling.
An early morning flight brings you to Aswan, a city where desert and river meet in timeless harmony. The High Dam, completed in 1970, stands as one of the largest embankment dams in the world, harnessing the Nile’s waters to generate power and ensure Egypt’s lifeblood flows steadily. Nearby, the Unfinished Obelisk lies cracked in its quarry — 42 meters long and over 1,000 tons — a reminder of both the ambition and challenges of ancient stonecutters.
From there, a short boat ride carries you across the Nile to Philae Temple, devoted to the goddess Isis. Relocated stone by stone in the 1960s to escape rising waters, it remains one of Egypt’s most enchanting sanctuaries. Its colonnades tell stories of gods and pharaohs, while the island setting adds a sense of otherworldly calm.
Enjoy breakfast overlooking the Nile before your ENA representative transfers you to Aswan Airport. The journey from the pyramids of Giza to the temples of Aswan leaves you with memories as enduring as the monuments themselves.

By Brian & Kate T.(United Kingdom (UK))June 18, 2025 Two cities, one amazing storyThis short tour was exactly what we needed between work trips. ENA made the logistics effortless. In Cairo we visited the pyramids and the new Grand Egyptian Museum—our guide explained the exhibits like an archaeologist. The next day we flew to Aswan and stayed right on the river. A boat to Philae Temple at sunset was the highlight; the reflection of columns in the water looked like a painting.
