Overview
Cairo is not a city you can rush. It is a symphony of pharaohs and caliphs, pyramids and palaces, bazaars and minarets. In three unforgettable days, ENA guides you through Egypt’s living story — from the shadow of the Great Pyramid to the halls of the Egyptian Museum, from the golden stone of Salah El Din’s Citadel to the timeless alleys of Khan El Khalili.
Highlights
- Explore the Great Pyramids & Sphinx
- Visit Saqqara’s Step Pyramid & Memphis, Egypt’s first capital
- Discover Tutankhamun’s treasures in the Grand Egyptian Museum
- Wander Salah El Din’s Citadel & the Alabaster Mosque
- Stroll Al Muizz Street & shop in Khan El Khalili Bazaar
Itinerary
Your ENA representative greets you at Cairo Airport and escorts you to your hotel. The rest of the evening is yours to rest or stroll the city’s lively streets.
Morning sunlight finds you on the Giza Plateau, where the pyramids rise above the desert as they have for 4,500 years. At the Valley Temple you imagine the rituals of kings long gone, while the Great Sphinx keeps its silent vigil.
After a pause for lunch, the story deepens at Saqqara, where the Step Pyramid of Djoser stands like a stairway to eternity — the very first of its kind. In Memphis, Egypt’s first capital, the colossal statue of Ramses II still dominates the square, and the alabaster Sphinx seems ready to speak. As the afternoon wanes, you return to your hotel with Cairo’s early genius fresh in mind.
Today the city itself becomes the museum. The Grand Egyptian Museum welcomes you with treasures of gold and stone, each piece whispering of the pharaohs. After a midday meal, you ascend to Salah El Din’s Citadel, where sweeping views of the city unfold. Within its walls, the Alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali rises with Ottoman grace.
On Al Muizz Street, carved stone and ornate minarets reveal Cairo’s medieval soul, while at Khan El Khalili Bazaar the scent of spices and the glitter of brass invite you into timeless commerce. As evening comes, your ENA representative transfers you to the airport for your onward flight — or back to your hotel if you’ve chosen to linger longer.
